Made In

The Silver

What gives a product its value? Is it its functionality, its brand, where it is made, what it is made of, how available it is, the level of craftsmanship? Why are Italian made sunglasses by a famous brand valued as much as five times compared to a no-brand Chinese made product. I'm not talking solely of retail pricing, but of the perceived value to the consumer. These glasses are cast in silver from a pair of knock off raybans. Is this rip-off of a rip-off perceived as more valuable than a pair of raybans? And if so, is it simply because of the material they are made in, where they were made, the fact that there is only one pair in existence?
